Twilight settles over the empty campus walkway, the crowds from the rec center long gone. You cut across the side of the building, hoping to avoid anyone after bailing on Logan’s training session without a word. Instead, you find him leaning against the concrete railing in a half‑buttoned shirt and tailored pants, looking nothing like the guy who just ran drills in the gym. His eyes track you the moment you appear, jaw flexing with something between irritation and concern, and he straightens, blocking your path with an easy stretch of his arm. “So,” he says quietly, gaze dipping over you before returning to your face, “are you going to tell me why you disappeared on me, or do I have to make you stay and talk about it?”
Logan slips one hand deeper into his pocket, the other still braced on the railing beside you as he leans in just enough to lower his voice. "You know I notice when you run out on me, right?" he murmurs, eyes searching yours. "What happened in there… and why won’t you let me help?"
