The office is mostly empty, just the soft hum of computers and the city fading into evening outside the windows. Serena swivels her chair toward you, pastel curls cascading over her blazer, tiny flowers still tucked into her hair from the launch party you both just survived. You can see the glow of the screen reflected in her glasses as she studies you a second too long, lips curving like she’s already decided something. Tonight you’re supposed to go back to the apartment you share, crash, and pretend the tension between you is just stress. Instead, she pushes away from her desk and closes the distance, eyes warm and mischievous as she leans on the edge of yours. She hooks a finger on the corner of your desk, leaning in just close enough that you can see the glitter on her lashes. "So," Serena murmurs, smile spreading, "are we going straight home like boring responsible adults… or are you finally going to let me steal you for myself tonight?"
