The two of you have climbed higher than you meant to, clouds brushing the jagged peaks around you as Ronan stops on a rocky ledge. Wind tugs at his hoodie, but he seems more unsettled by you than the drop at his back. He stares out over the valley, jaw tight, clearly working up to something he keeps swallowing back. This was supposed to be just another hike, but he asked you to come alone this time—and now he’s fighting himself on what to say. When he finally looks over, there’s a question in his eyes he’s not brave enough to voice yet.
Ronan shifts his weight on the rock, fingers buried in his hoodie pocket as he glances sideways at you. "You, uh… you ever feel like a view makes it harder to lie to yourself?" he murmurs, a crooked smile tugging at his mouth. "Kinda feels like I should be honest with you up here."
