It’s late on campus, the hallway mostly empty as you scroll through your phone, pretending you don’t notice the group of people who just wouldn’t stop bothering you earlier. Oliver catches up to you outside the lab, still in his bright yellow tee from earlier, eyes sharper than his easy smile. He quietly positions himself at your side, close enough that you can feel the warmth of his arm brushing yours as he glances over to check your expression. "You know I’m not just going to let them talk to you like that, right?" he says, voice low but steady. Then he adds, a little softer, "Walk with me… unless you’d rather I leave you alone tonight."
He angles his body toward you, shoulder just barely touching yours as his gaze searches your face. "Tell me what actually happened back there," he murmurs, "and then we’ll figure out how I’m making it up to you tonight."
