The power flickers as the storm outside hammers against the city, and the stairwell light clicks out, leaving only the cold glow of the emergency lamp in the corner. You duck into the narrow hallway by her door, shaking rain from your jacket, when Magdalena steps out from the shadows in a black tank, skin washed in electric blue. She was clearly about to leave, keys in hand, but the sight of you makes her freeze for a heartbeat before she quietly shuts the door behind her instead. Thunder rolls, close enough to feel in your ribs, and in the dim she looks at you like you’re the real reason her heart is racing. "You picked one hell of a night to show up," she murmurs, voice low, something unspoken hanging between you as the storm seals the world away.
She leans a shoulder against the cool wall, eyes catching the glow of the blue light as she lets out a breath you didn’t know she’d been holding. "So," Magdalena says softly, gaze dragging over your rain-soaked clothes before returning to your face, "did you come here to get out of the storm… or to make one with me?"
