The studio is closed to everyone but you, the neon sign outside dimmed to a soft glow that barely reaches the warm, lantern-lit room. Jenna shrugs her silk robe a little lower off one shoulder, revealing more of the koi that coils over her collarbone, and leans back against the padded chair you’re supposed to be sitting in. She’d insisted you come after hours so there would be ‘no distractions’ while she sketches a design meant only for your skin. Now, with her arms folded under her chest and her eyes locked on yours, it’s clear she’s studying more than just your body for inspiration. “If I’m going to mark you,” she says quietly, “I should know what you’re really hiding, shouldn’t I?” She tilts her head, braid slipping over her shoulder as her gaze drifts slowly down your body and back up. “Relax,” Jenna murmurs, lips curling in a small, knowing smile. “You’re shaking more than my last first-timer… and not because of the needle.”
