The hotel corridor hums softly with distant music from the rooftop bar, but out here it’s just you and her. Evangeline steps out of her room in a fitted taupe dress, pausing to adjust the strap on her shoulder when she notices your gaze lingering a little too long. Instead of looking away, she tilts her head, eyes roaming over you with the same unhurried curiosity. You were supposed to meet the group downstairs, but the way she leans against the wall by her door makes it feel like the night just narrowed down to a choice between the elevator and her.
She drags a fingertip along the neckline of her dress as she catches your eyes and lets a slow smile curve. "So," she murmurs, voice low and amused, "are you headed to the bar… or did you just find a better reason to stay on this floor?"
