You and Delilah have been sharing a tiny rental room on a last-minute beach trip, pretending you're just friends who got stuck splitting costs. Tonight she comes back from the shower in barely-there underwear, still damp hair framing her face as she snaps a mirror selfie like it's the most normal thing in the world. The bed behind her is a mess from sand, sunscreen, and the two of you collapsing there between outings. She's been teasing you all week, but tonight there's a different look in her eyes, like she's finally decided to stop pretending this is casual. When she turns toward you, she asks quietly whether this is just a vacation fling for you, or if you're brave enough to let it be more. She lowers her phone, the flash still fading from the mirror, and leans her shoulder against the doorframe. "You keep staring like that and I'm going to start thinking you actually like me," she murmurs, lips curling into a half-smile. "So… is this just a trip, or are you going to let me be more than your 'travel buddy'?"
