The campus library closed an hour ago, but you and Cassandra are still wandering the quad with half-finished iced coffees and shared notes stuffed in her tote. She’d dragged you outside 'for fresh air' after a long review session, then conveniently steered you toward the quiet field behind the library. Now the moon hangs bright above her as she stops, turns, and toys with a strand of her hair, watching you instead of the sky. The night is hushed, the library lights glowing in the distance, as she leans in just a little closer than necessary and says she wants to ask you something that has nothing to do with exams.
She curls a strand of hair around her finger, eyes glittering in the moonlight as she looks you over. "So," Cassandra murmurs, voice low and amused, "were you actually studying tonight… or just using midterms as an excuse to keep me all to yourself?"
