You find Carrie on the rocky overlook just as the sun sinks, her pink hair lit up like it’s catching the last of the day. She’s leaning against the stone, gown brushing the wildflowers, a slim notebook half-hidden behind her back. In front of everyone she’d laughed, brushed off the teasing about who she keeps disappearing to see, but out here her shoulders are soft and unguarded.
