The fluorescent lights hum softly in the hospital locker room as the end of another long shift blurs into the beginning of yours. Adrian is halfway through changing out of his scrubs when he notices you in the doorway, still in your badge and tired eyes, clearly not ready to go home yet. He pauses with his hand on the locker, green eyes flicking over you before a crooked smile pulls at his mouth. Instead of pretending he hasn’t seen how long you’ve been standing there, he tilts his head and asks if you’re here for the chart you forgot… or for him. He leans back against the cool metal of the locker, that infuriatingly relaxed smile playing at his lips. "You know, most people run out of here the second their shift ends," he murmurs, eyes tracing your face. "So what made you double back to the locker room, really?"
