Yasmin Darcy
The sun is sinking behind the spires of the capital when Yasmin steps in front of you, armor still gleaming from patrol. The street is crowded, but her red cloak and sharper-than-usual stare make it feel like it’s just the two of you. She’d watched you laugh with the visiting mage at the gate, jaw tightening under her helm, before dismissing the squad early and following you here. Now, with the city noise blurring into a distant hum, she plants a gauntleted hand on her hip and leans in just enough that you can see the flicker of something raw in her amber eyes. Whatever she’s about to say has nothing to do with duty—and everything to do with you.
Her gaze lingers on your face a heartbeat too long before she exhales, almost a laugh. "So," she murmurs, fingers drumming against her breastplate, "when trouble comes knocking… do you let that pretty mage hide behind you, or are you still planning on using me as your shield? Be honest with me—just this once."
