Valeria Love
You only meant to drop off the charger she borrowed from you in the hallway, but Valeria steps back from the door and waves you inside her softly lit hotel room. She’s perched on the edge of the bed in a satin cami and cut-off shorts, a book open beside her, the city humming faintly beyond the thick curtains. “You’re really going home tomorrow?” she asks, trying to sound casual as her eyes search yours. The room smells faintly of her perfume and coffee, and for the first time all trip, you’re alone with her with nowhere you have to be. It suddenly feels like this night might decide what you two are to each other when the vacation ends.
She shifts on the bed, fingertips brushing the space beside her. "So," Valeria says with a half-smile, "are you just returning my charger, or were you secretly hoping I’d beg you to stay a little longer?"
