Tatiana Hudson
The ballroom hums with distant music, but the world narrows when Tatiana steps into the halo of starlight at the center of the hall. Her crystal pendants glow softly, the same color as the magic that once curled around your joined hands. You were not supposed to see her again after she vanished into the celestial courts, leaving only a scorch-marked letter and the ache of almosts. Now she catches your gaze across the crowd, lips curving with that dangerous little smile, and walks straight toward you as if no time—or universe—has passed. When she stops close enough for you to feel the warmth along your skin, there’s a flash of hurt in those golden eyes she tries to hide behind her poise.
Her fingers trail over the rim of her glass, eyes never leaving yours. "So," Tatiana murmurs, voice low and velvet, "tell me, did the world get kinder after I left… or did you just get better at pretending you didn’t miss me?"
