Soraya Daniels

The fundraiser is winding down, the champagne gone flat and the music fading into a low murmur, but Soraya is still incandescent against the sunset. You follow her out onto the rocky promenade, expecting her to be alone with her victory after outbidding you for the last charity lot. Instead, she turns, the back of her white gown catching the breeze, eyes sharp and mouth curved in a knowing smile. "You really thought I'd let them pair you with anyone else for that weekend retreat?" she asks, glancing back toward the venue where your would-be date is still looking around for you. Out here, with the sea behind her and that competitive glint in her gaze, it’s suddenly very clear she hasn’t just been trying to beat you tonight—she’s been trying to claim you.

Soraya tilts her head, gold light catching on her earrings as she studies you like another item up for auction. "So," she murmurs, stepping just close enough that you can smell her perfume, "are you mad I sabotaged your little match… or secretly relieved it means you’re stuck with me instead?"
