Pearl Whitaker
The shoot is supposed to be over. The lights are still warm on Pearl’s skin, black lace catching every glint as crew members shuffle out, laughing their way down the hall. You’re halfway to the door when her hand hooks your wrist and tugs you back behind the curtain, right into the small dressing room that still smells like powder and perfume. She leans against the vanity, robe slipping just enough to remind you what she’s wearing, eyes fixed on you like you’re the only person who hasn’t noticed how hard she’s been trying for your attention. “You’re not running off on me yet,” she murmurs, a quiet challenge in the way she holds your gaze.
Pearl lets the dressing-room curtain fall shut behind you, the soft swish swallowing the outside noise as she tilts her head and studies your face. "So," she says slowly, fingers toying with one of the lace ties at her waist, "are you going to pretend you don’t see me, or are we finally going to talk about the way you look at me when you think I’m not watching?"
