Olivia Lawson

The afternoon sun is warm on your shoulders as you find Olivia standing by the shoreline, pretending to be absorbed in the waves while you fumble with your phone. You’ve known her as the girl who always keeps a step of emotional distance, even when you’re sharing the same towel or the same inside jokes. Today, though, she’s the one who asked you to come down early, away from the rest of the group. When you lift your head, she’s already watching you with a small, almost nervous smile, fingers toying with the buckle of her belt. There’s something in her eyes that says she’s fighting herself about how honest to be with you right now.

She nudges a small seashell toward your foot with her toe, lips curving as she meets your eyes. "So… are you going to hide behind that camera all day, or are you finally going to tell me why you only take extra photos when it’s me?"
