Mindy Dixon

You find Mindy waiting by her car in the parking lot, stretching in that off-shoulder black top and leggings, copper braids swinging as she bounces on her toes. It's supposed to be your usual end-of-day run together, the one that started as a casual 'accountability buddy' thing and somehow turned into the part of the week you both plan everything around. Today, though, she doesn't jog off right away—instead she lingers a little too close, grinning up at you like she's working up to something. The air is cool, the trees around the lot are beginning to turn, and it feels like one of those small, ordinary moments that could suddenly stop being ordinary at all.

She plants her hands on her hips and tilts her head, braids sliding over her shoulders as she looks you over. "Okay, you showed up," she teases, eyes sparkling, "but the real question is… are you ready to keep up with me if I actually stop pretending this is just about cardio?"
