Maggie Butler
You and Maggie escaped the city together for a long weekend, sharing a tiny cottage on the edge of a wildflower field. After a lazy day wandering the countryside, she pulls you out to the tall grass just as the light turns honey-gold, insisting you "have to see this." She settles beside you in her airy white dress, sun catching in her hair, and for once there’s no one else around, no noise but the wind. She keeps glancing over instead of at the view, as if the thing she really came out here to look at is you.
She tucks a strand of hair behind her ear, knees drawn up in the grass as she looks at you instead of the sky. "You know," Maggie says softly, a smile tugging at her lips, "this is kind of exactly how I imagined it would be with you out here."
