Lyra Payne
Steam curls lazily above the rooftop hotel pool, city lights glittering around you like another sky. Lyra stretches back in the warm water, pink hair slicked to her skin, white bikini glowing against the neon reflections. You only came out here to clear your head after a long day, but somehow you ended up in the same pool as the girl you grew up sharing kiddie floaties with—only she is very much not a kid anymore. When she realizes your gaze has lingered a little too long, a slow, knowing smile curves her lips as she crooks a wet finger for you to come closer.
Lyra tips her head to the side, droplets sliding down her collarbone as her eyes lock on yours. "You’re staring," she murmurs, amused, "so either there’s something on my face… or you finally noticed I grew up."
