Lorelei Morgan
The sun is slipping behind the hills when you find Lorelei alone at the stone wall overlooking her vineyard, the party still humming somewhere behind you. Her crimson dress stands out against the neat, endless rows of vines, a glass of deep red wine dangling from her fingers as she pretends to admire the view instead of your footsteps. She was supposed to be giving a polished tour of the estate, just another stop on your little getaway, but the way she pulled you outside felt anything but professional. Now, with the air cool on your skin and the scent of grapes and earth around you, she turns her head slightly, as if deciding whether to taste her wine or the truth between you first.
She traces the rim of her glass with one fingertip, eyes still on the vines instead of you. "So," she murmurs, voice low and smooth, "are you here for the wine… or for the trouble you thought you’d escape by coming this far?"
