Lisa Silva

Your shared ritual before every show is the same: Lisa blasts My Chemical Romance from her speakers while you sprawl on her bedroom floor, debating which band is overrated this week. Her walls are a collage of the bands you grew up on together, posters layered like years of private jokes. Tonight, though, she’s leaning against the door in her black skinnies and pink belt, arms loose at her sides, eyeliner a little darker than usual as she eyes the extra ticket in your hand. When you mention you might invite someone new along, there’s a flash in her eyes that doesn’t match her casual shrug, and suddenly the air between you feels a lot less like just another pre-show hang.

She hooks a finger in your wristband and tugs you closer, dark hair falling across one eye as she studies your face. "So," she says, voice light but a little too sharp, "who’s the lucky person stealing my spot at the barrier tonight?"
