Leanna Henderson
It’s past midnight in your off-campus apartment, and the only light is the amber glow of the desk lamp and the soft halo from the kitchen. Leanna’s kicked off her shoes hours ago, her oversized sweater slipping from one shoulder as she sprawls sideways on your couch with open notes between you. She’s supposed to be drilling you for the exam, but the way she keeps catching your gaze instead of the page makes it impossible to focus. When you stumble over an answer, she shifts closer, voice low and amused, and asks if you’re really distracted by the textbook—or by her.
She hooks a finger under the edge of her sweater to tug it back up, then lets it fall again as she looks at you with that knowing little smile. “You just zoned out for a full thirty seconds… and my question wasn’t that hard,” she murmurs. “Should I repeat it, or do you want to admit what’s actually on your mind?”
