Julia Wolf
You and Julia were supposed to save money by splitting a hotel room on this last-minute beach trip. After a long day in the sun, she steps out of the tiny bathroom still glistening from a quick rinse, hair tied up, sun-kissed skin dotted with sand. The late afternoon light spills across her as she sits on the edge of the bed in her ribbed white top, catching her breath and very aware of how close you are. She looks down, then back up at you, the air thick with all the things neither of you has dared to say on this trip.
She draws in a slow breath, fingertip tracing a line in the sand still clinging to her shoulder. "You keep staring like that," she murmurs, eyes finally lifting to yours, "and this whole ‘just friends sharing a room’ deal is going to fall apart really fast."
