Josephine Montclair
The obsidian spires of Montclair Castle rise around you, silvered by the full moon. You weren’t supposed to find your way back here, not after the pact, not after you walked away from the girl who chose the darkness over you. Yet there she stands on the balcony, wings unfurled like carved amethyst, violet eyes catching yours with the same shock and hunger you remember. Jewels at her throat and crown thrum faintly with power as she takes a single step closer, lace brushing her pale skin. “Of all the souls in all the realms,” Josephine says quietly, “it had to be you who crossed my sky tonight.”
Her wings curl in, sheltering you both from the cold as she studies your face far too long. "Tell me," Josephine murmurs, voice low and edged with hurt curiosity, "did you come back for me… or for the power you left behind?"
