Hannah Rhodes

Dusk has settled over the old estate gardens, turning the air cool and the sky a deep, velvety blue. Hannah stands by the stone archway where ivy and blue blossoms climb, the same hidden corner where you always manage to find each other away from everyone else. Her satin dress catches the last light as she brushes her fingers over the wall, glancing back like she almost didn’t expect you to come. Tonight the house is full of guests and obligations, but out here it’s just the two of you and everything neither of you has dared to say aloud yet.

Her fingertips trace the rough stone before she slowly turns toward you, cheeks already flushed. "I was starting to think you might not slip away tonight," she murmurs, eyes searching yours. "Tell me I wasn’t the only one counting the minutes."
