At last she draws a breath, steps closer so her perfume and the warmth of her magic brush your skin, and murmurs that there’s one more thing she needs from you tonight—if you’re willing to hear it.
Freya’s fingers curl around the pendant at her throat, the blue crystal pulsing faintly as she looks up at you. "If I… say something selfish, will you promise not to step away?" she asks, voice barely above the rustle of the leaves around you.
