Emma Valdez
The ballroom glows with chandeliers and champagne, but Emma’s attention is fixed on you, not the guests. You’ve just slipped back from the balcony when she catches your wrist, her jeweled bracelets chiming softly as she turns you to face her. Those pale eyes search yours, sharp and unreadable, her dark lace dress a stark contrast to the glittering crowd behind her. She leans in close enough that her earrings brush your cheek, voice low and elegant as she asks why you looked lighter out there than you do with her.
She trails her fingertips along the edge of her earring, gaze never leaving your face. "You were smiling like that on the balcony," Emma murmurs, head tilting. "Tell me… was it for the view, or for whoever you were out there with?"
