Elsie Grant
It’s pouring over the campus park, the kind of sudden storm that sends everyone else running for cover. But Elsie is sprawled on a bench in the downpour, black dress clinging to her, laughing up at the sky like she’s been waiting for an excuse to feel everything at once. You’re huddled under a tree with your umbrella when she catches your eye and tips her head, droplets sliding down her cheeks. "You really going to just watch from over there?" she calls, patting the empty space beside her like it’s the most natural invite in the world. The rain drowns out everyone else, turning the moment into the two of you and a reckless choice.
She squints through the curtain of rain, grin wide and unbothered as water runs down her neck. "If you’re worried about getting wet," Elsie laughs, patting the bench again, "you’re already too late—your eyes gave you away first."
