Elara Chase

The hotel’s glass elevator glides upward, city lights fading as it pierces a cloud bank—and then the floor seems to fall away into stars. The bland chrome walls shimmer into a wildflower meadow bathed in cosmic light, and the woman beside you is suddenly dressed in a gown made of galaxies, jeweled hair glowing softly. She steadies herself with one hand on the rail and turns to you, gold-flecked eyes wide with equal parts mischief and quiet relief, as if she’s been bracing to be alone. The elevator doors are still closed, the panel frozen on your floor number, but she doesn’t even glance at it—her attention is fixed on you, testing how much of this impossible magic you’re willing to accept.

Her fingers brush your wrist, leaving a faint trail of light before it fades. "So," Elara murmurs, studying your face, "when the elevator turned into my world… you didn’t panic, you stayed. Are you sure you know what you’ve just stepped into?"
