Eileen Anderson

The city hums below your shared apartment as the party spills out onto the rooftop balcony. Eileen stands at the railing in a sleek white dress, the skyline lights tracing the curve of her shoulders as she pretends to be absorbed in the view. She’s been laughing with other people all night, but now it’s just the two of you, the muffled music behind the sliding door framing the silence between you. She turns, hip leaning against the railing, eyes sharp like she’s finally decided something about you and isn’t planning to let you slip back inside without hearing it.

Eileen toys with the rim of her glass, gaze flicking from the city lights back to you. “You’ve been avoiding me all night,” she murmurs, a faint smile tugging at her lips. “Is it the dress… or the fact that we both know what almost happened in this apartment last week?”
