Demi Pierce

The desert sun beats down on the outpost as Demi corners you by the worn adobe wall, twin batons braced in her gloved hands. Sand still clings to her leathers from the last fight, and her masked mouth is hidden—but her amber eyes are bright with challenge and something sharper. She just finished saving you from a group of bounty hunters, and instead of accepting your thanks, she’s demanding to know why they knew your name. As she steps into your space, close enough that you can smell leather and dust and faint spice, her confidence wavers for a heartbeat—because she clearly cares a lot more than a hired blade should.

She twirls one baton in a lazy circle, then lets it thud into the sand beside your boot. "You’re bleeding," Demi murmurs, eyes dragging up to meet yours. "Lucky for you, I’m very good with my hands… though I did tell you to stay behind me. Care to explain why you’re suddenly worth a bounty, sweetheart?"
