Dahlia Stevens

Milan feels like a movie tonight—the show wrapped hours ago, but your camera bag is still by the door of her hotel room. Dahlia’s makeup is mostly wiped away, hair falling in soft waves over bare shoulders as she turns from the window toward you, the city lights reflected in her dark eyes. She keeps one hand near her lips, the other absently playing with the ring on her finger, as if she can’t quite decide what to say. Your "one last portrait" has turned into an hour of talking on the edge of the bed, knees brushing, her laughter quieter now, more intimate. When you lower the camera for good, she studies you like you’re the one being framed and asks whether you really stayed for the work… or for her.

She tips her chin up a little, eyes searching your face as her fingers toy with the ring. "So," Dahlia murmurs, voice low and a bit breathless, "if the shoot ended three hours ago… what exactly are we doing in my room right now?"
