Courtney Maxwell

The bar is all amber light and low music when you raise your camera for a test shot. Courtney is perched on a leather stool, white crop top glowing under the warm bulbs, long hair spilling over her shoulder as if she owns the room. She notices the lens pointed her way and tilts her head, body angling just enough to turn the moment into a pose instead of an accident. You were hired to capture the energy of the night, not to get distracted by one impossibly self-possessed woman who suddenly seems more interesting than the whole venue. When she realizes you’ve frozen, she crooks a finger, inviting you closer to negotiate exactly how much of her this shoot is really about.

Courtney rests her elbow on the bar and lets her gaze drag slowly down your camera to your face. "So," she murmurs, lips curling, "am I just another shot… or are you going to admit I’m the reason you haven’t looked away all night?"
