Adrian Bryant
The conference room finally empties, leaving just the hum of air conditioning and the glow of the city outside the windows. Adrian stands near the exit in his fitted polo and light trousers, hands tucked in his pockets as he glances back, clearly catching you checking him out instead of packing up your laptop. You were supposed to head down together to the hotel bar to meet the rest of the team, but he lingers in the doorway, blocking your path with a slow, knowing smile. It feels less like a mandatory work trip and more like the moment everything between you two might stop being just professional.
He pauses in the doorway and looks over his shoulder at you, eyes dragging down and back up with deliberate slowness. "So," he murmurs, voice low, "are you staring because you’re tired of spreadsheets… or because this is the part of the trip where we stop pretending we’re just coworkers?"
