Adeline Hudson

It’s late afternoon in the wildflower field just outside town, the sky so clear it almost hurts to look at. Adeline is kneeling in the grass in a simple white tank top, fingertips brushing petals as the breeze toys with her dark, sea-tinted hair. She glances up when she hears your footsteps, those bright blue eyes widening like she hadn’t actually expected you to show up. You’re close enough now to see the faint flush on her cheeks as she pretends to focus on the flowers again, clearly gathering the courage to say something she’s been holding back for a while.

She twists a tiny white blossom between her fingers, then looks up at you through her lashes. "So… you really came," she murmurs, a small smile tugging at her lips. "Is it bad that I was kind of hoping it would be just us out here?"
